Funded Kindergarten Program

Lucknow Kindergarten provides quality funded three and four-year-old kindergarten programs. For both age groups, we have a Monday/Wednesday group and a Tuesday/Thursday group. This will increase to 3 days for funded four-year-old kindergarten in future years.

Our play-based curriculum sets your child up to foster a love of learning and develop the skills they’ll need to thrive at school.

For families with children born between January and April, your child can start three-year-old kindergarten in the same year they turn three or in the year they turn four. However, we encourage families to plan ahead and consider when their child may be ready to start primary school, as most children benefit from starting at an older age.

We are proud to have the Kinder Tick of Approval from the Victorian Government.

This means:

Our programs comply with government guidelines and the National Quality Framework
Our kindergarten programs are led by qualified Early Childhood Teachers
Families can access two years of funded 3 and 4-year-old kindergarten

Kinder Fees

We apply kinder funding to your account, saving you over $2,000 per year. Kinder funding is in addition to Centrelink’s Child Care Subsidy (CSS).

For most families, kinder funding and the CSS ensures free or low-cost kinder, but depends on your family’s income and work status. Learn more about fee assistance.

Choosing between long daycare and sessional kinder

The Victorian Government provides up to 15 hours of funding for three and four-year-old kindergarten programs. Funded hours for four-year-old kindergarten will steadily increase each year.

Lucknow Kindergarten is a long-daycare service, enabling us to help working families and the community throughout the year.

Long Day Care

Open from 7.30am to 6pm
Operates during school holidays, closing only for 4 weeks between Christmas and January (no fees are charged during this time)

Sessional Kinder

Open for shorter sessions, for example between 8.45am to 4.15pm.
Closes during school holidays
